Limoges – Circa 1900’s French Limoges Deviled Egg Serving Tray
Limoges – Old French Limoges Deviled Egg Serving Tray or Platter from the very early 1900’s! Possible used for serving the delicate quail egg. It is just beautifully done! Heavily embossed with a fancy Rococo pattern that is done in relief along the edges and covered in a rich 22k or 24k Gold-tone leaf gild! In the middle of the dish there is a space for 6 egg halves that are also gilded in the luscious gold-tone~ There are two portrait cameo medallions on each end with HAND PAINTED flower Roses in the center. The body is a very fine porcelain. Artist Signed on the back Kathryn S. Varley 1909 ~ There is also a underglaze mark in green “AK” over “D” with France. 85+ years old! There is a chip off one corner that has been re-gilded as shown.
