Nippon Hand-Painted Vase With Red Poppies and Gold-Trim – This vintage squat form Nippon vase deserves praise of the highest acclaim. Its eloquent and impressive hand painted detailing will add to any setting or decor. The vase pays loving homage to the lovely poppy flower. The base is antique white in color with the bottom rim lined with precious gold-tone. A decorative embossed panel of gold-tone details in the Rococo feathers and scrolls style encircle the lower mid section of the vase. The top is enchanted with brilliant magenta colored poppy flowers were laid upon a bed of dark forest green. The pretty poppies are splendidly detailed with hand applied Moriage enameling in their centers, petals, and foliage of bright lime and emerald. The elegantly sculpted sculpted porcelain flower opening at the center of the vase is quite unique. The articulated handles rise from both sides to join lovingly with the figural neck and opening. This poignant vase measures 6 1/2″ wide and 5 1/4″ tall. Circa 1900. No chips, cracks or repairs. Shimmering gold-tone details sparkle in magnificence in the handles and sculpted flower in the center. Marked Nippon Hand Painted (Maple Leaf).
